This is truly one of the most unique events! It’s about a 5 1/2 to 6 hour drive to Ocean City, Maryland (without stops). While some of the travel time was on the interstate, much of it was back road (US Highway’s) through the countryside of Virginia and Maryland. You pass tobacco, cotton and corn fields – see lots of farms and rolling countryside. Driving across Chesapeake Bay was an experience by itself. Nothing but water as far as the eye can see.

The host hotel, Courtyard Marriott was right on the Boardwalk. Tom booked all the first floor rooms so we had the entire patio to ourselves for the parade. We had a great time sitting on the patio with our drinks and appetizers swapping Corvette stories. 3 club members entered the Corvette show and all 3 came away with trophies – quite a feat given the number of Corvettes entered in the show! The absolute topper for the weekend was the Corvette parade on the Boardwalk. Watching the Corvettes drive down the Boardwalk with the ocean waves breaking in the background was phenomenal. The parade itself lasted over 1 1/2 hours! People lined the boardwalk and waved from the balconies of the hotels along the strip to the sound of the waves crashing and engines roaring!

This is a MUST DO event for every club member – looking forward to next year!
