Through the use of a car confiscated from a drug dealer, the Wake County Sheriff’s Department is driving a 2007 Z06 to catch drug dealers. So far, the first two stops with the Corvette have netted five bags of drugs and a pound of marijuana. It’s also very likely this car will be used for catching speeders as well, so watch out for a black Z06 around the county!
Perhaps we should send an invitation to Sheriff Harrison to come to our next meeting? It would be nice to see an RTP Corvettes sticker in the rear window!

Sheriff Harrison said the department would likely sell the vehicle once the county has gotten its use from it and that money would go to Wake County Schools.
The Z06 will lead the Raleigh contingent of the National Corvette Caravan out of Raleigh from Hendrick Chevrolet in Cary. The group will be leaving at 9:30am on Tuesday, September 1, 2009.
We saw the Z06 in action on I40 a few weeks ago.
